Hello! My name is Lauren Bush. I'm a lab technician from Houston, TX, and I'm hooked on carnival! My addiction to carnival started when I was on the hunt for a new hobby. I had recently gone through a divorce, and needed something to get my mind off of recent events. I wanted to start a collection, but wasn't sure what I wanted to collect! My grandmother had amassed a healthy collection of fine China and linens from her years of working in a premiere shop in Houston that specialized in these items. My grandmother had no problem giving me some of her collection, but I was looking for something different. I remember looking up carnival glass, because I had heard the term before, but didn't know what it was. When I found Classic carnival glass, I fell in love! It had numerous elements that immediately drew me in; iridescence, attractive designs, endless varieties of shapes and colors, etc. There was something else about this glass, too. Whenever I held a piece of Classic carnival, it was like holding a piece of the past. It made me think of the multiple artisans who created it, and the skill involved. I've only been collecting carnival for a little over a year and a half. I have yet to join any clubs or attend any conventions, but I look forward to doing so once my children are a bit older!
