Northwood Peacocks on the Fence Blue Stippled Plate
Description
Here is our blue stippled Peacocks On The Fence 9" plate with stretchy electric iridescence. A photo just doesn't do this piece justice! When we walked by it at the auction preview I think we literally skidded to a stop and did a double take. The online auction photo (this one) didn't prepare us for its beauty in person and we weren't the only ones to think so because we had to pay dearly for it!
But now we get to see it every day in our cabinet and it just gives us so much pleasure! The stretchy onion skin effect and the brilliant violet edge against that intense bright blue - It's one of those pieces we had no doubts or second thoughts about - just an immediate love for it and a "have to have it" determination which I bet most collectors can relate to at times!
We purchased this at the Christina Katsikas 2017 HOACGA Auction - another piece where provenance means so much to us! (and another in my top five!)
