Imperial Imperial Grape Purple Punch Bowl Set

Auctioneer Tom Burns was having, what he called, a "2-Day Super Sleeper Auction", Friday, April 7th. and Saturday, April 8th, 2017 in Hagerstown, Maryland. This was a large auction with 506 lots. That's why it was 2 days long.

There were two items that I was very interested in. One, I had already won, was a purple Flute, 8-piece punch set and the other I was hoping to bring home was a purple, Imperial Grape punch bowl and base made by Imperial. Actually, all I really wanted was the magnificent punch bowl. We have, just as magnificent, a purple Imperial Grape punch bowl base and six matching cups. The base that was with the bowl at this auction was average at best, but the bowl, OMG! was off the charts!

Again, a live phone bid sealed the deal and the Imperial Grape punch bowl and base was heading to Wisconsin. When it arrived, along with the Flute punch set, it was like opening a large Christmas present. When I put the Imperial Grape bowl on the base we already had for it and placed the cups all around, it was like, Magical, in a way because they were all meant to be together, and now, finally they were.
