Victorylite Marigold Pair of Candleholder Inserts

Description

It was the kind of rainy September day that your pillowcase beckons to remain adhered to your head. Quite honestly, being I was off this day, and there were no household chores awaiting, my pillow's temptations were sweet. However, an insect must have bitten me during the night, yes, an indestructible pest known as the 'antique bug'! Fully obeying the 'sickness', I packed some snacks, then headed up the New York State thruway to a few towns I had never explored before.

After some two hours of travel, and a lengthy leg off the main highway, I came upon a little hamlet and its unadvertised consignment shop. Entering a very old structure, of which I also find interesting, I began that bionic scan we all apply when the 'search' is on. Then, Ba-boom! There in my gaze, betwixt a pair of Barbie dolls, sat this delightful pair of marigold objects.

Upon inspection, I nearly hyperventilated, as they were embossed: VICTORYLITE CANDLE CO. OSHKOSH WIS. And for the price of about a cup of coffee, I wasn't sure if I was still home sleeping!

Notice the attractive swirls in the glass rising up toward the peg. You can clearly see the peg that is meant to rest in a candleholder. The little raised nibs, see in photo no.5, show how these would grip the candle to keep it in place. They measure 4" wide x 2.25" high.

Good luck to all when Carnival glass hunting!
