Northwood Wishbone Green Chop Plate

Description

About 10 years ago we were attending the 82nd Airborne Division convention in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. A friend from Arizona loves to play golf at each convention. The hotel  made him an appointment to play on a course just ten minutes away.  We agreed to drive him there. Well, we drove and drove but could not find it. We called the course and it was about forty-five minutes north.

On the way we passed an antique shop. We went there while our friend played golf. Hiding in a cabinet under a pile of bowls was this plate. We were excited! The owner wanted cash only so we had to combine what cash both of us carried to buy it. It taught us to always carry our checkbook even when taking a short drive. After finding the plate we were no longer upset with the mistake made by the hotel. Being a good Samaritan paid off.

We loved the blue iridescence but that is very hard to capture it in a picture. It covers the entire plate but does not show that way in my photographs.

These chop plates are very rare. We know of two others owned by Emmet & Dorothy Morgan and Gary Heavin.
