Northwood Plain Petals Purple Tri-Corner Candy Dish

Description

This Northwood tri-cornered candy dish has an inside pattern called Plain Petals or in some cases Sunflower. This is one bowl that's difficult to research because it's the outside pattern of Leaf and Beads that is the dominant pattern for this item. In other words, this is like a whimsey Leaf and Beads rose bowl that has been stretched open so that the pattern inside is laid out flat.

The outside has no iridescence and is a very shiny dark purple. It has the three little feet that look like thick branches, like those found on rose bowls, which make it all the more whimsical.

This item was sold during the April 2017 Heart of America Carnival Glass Association Convention Auction featuring the collection of Christina Katsikas.
