Maker Unknown Freija Blue Covered Pin or Trinket Dish

Description

We purchased this little unknown beauty from a dealer friend back in the early 2000s. It was found in Sweden but the maker, pattern and country of origin were unknown. It is probably Scandanavian but this has yet to be proven.

Early last year we decided it was time to give it a name and so called it "Freija", which sounds suitably Scandinavian, meaning Lady or Queen of the Gods.

The iridescence on the top of the dish is so dark in colour it looks almost burnt. Parts of the dish look as if they could have been iridized.

As yet, this item is unique.

It's 3 1/8" long, 1 1/4" deep, and 1 7/8" at its widest.
