Imperial Open Rose Purple Plate

Here is one of my favorite pieces of Carnival glass. It's a 9" Open Rose plate by Imperial. We purchased this one from an American Carnival Glass Association convention auction. I was taken with the different colors in the iridescence and how pretty and bright it was. The base glass is a nice deep purple.

I was able to track this plate as having been sold twice at two different auctions before we bought it. I save old auction brochures as reference. The markings on this plate are so distinctive that I was able to tell with ease that it was one in the same being offered at auction again. They say the third time's a charm. We were very happy to have paid a bargain price compared to what it had sold for during the two previous times.
