Fenton Fine Rib Vaseline Opal Vase

Here we have a vaseline opalescent Fine Rib vase by Fenton. It was December 23, 2006, just before Christmas, when Debbie and I headed up to Georgetown, Kentucky to check out a flea market someone had told her about.
We got a late start so we stopped at a restaurant in Bardstown, KY to have some breakfast. By the time we were finished I mentioned that it was almost time for the Carrier Antique Mall to open. Usually, when we went through Bardstown, we would stop there and look around, almost never finding anything much.
This time we looked around on the first floor and then I headed up the steps to the second floor for a quick look. The second booth I came to had a few pieces of Carnival glass. My eyes went to this vase sitting on a shelf and I could tell it was opalescent so I reached out for it. As I was checking it for damage, I held it to the light and I could see it was also vaseline base glass. It was tagged as marigold and had the price for a marigold Fine Rib vase.
We got the discount and the vase for less than the cost of our breakfast! It made a really nice Christmas present.
