Eda Sweden Lagerkrans Blue Bonbonniere
This blue bonbonniere is the very first item of European Carnival glassware that we were ever offered and instantly changed our direction on collecting. The piece came from a family connection to an Eda factory worker living in Sweden in early 2000.
It was love at first sight, as it was such a dainty piece, with a pattern of tiny flowers around the lid and the base of the barrel. There are four ground feet on the base. The iridescence is absolutely a knockout, showing pinks, greens, gold and turquoise, and the quality of the glass is remarkable.
This piece convinced us to look for and buy more European Carnival Glass. I have seen these in Marigold, blue and in an extremely rare purple. It measures 5.25" high, 4" across the top opening and 3" across the base.
