Dugan Amaryllis Purple Plate Whimsey From Compote

This cute little Amaryllis plate is 5" across and 2" high and made by Dugan. They are sometimes called a whimsey. Are they? Kind of. They were made by flattening the Amaryllis compotes, so yes, they are a whimsey that was massed produced.

The back pattern on the plate is Poppy Wreath and they are known in purple (like this one), marigold, and black amethyst.

This was our first one. I bought it from my friend, Bruce Hill, in March of 2008.
