Brockwitz Germany Square Diamond a.k.a. Column Flower Blue Square Vase

Description

In June, 2005, our good friends, David and Amy Ayers, sold their Carnival glass at the Lincoln Land Convention auction. They had a number of European pieces which we became the new caretakers of.

One piece in particular was a blue square vase. By this time in our collecting, we were heavy into European Carnival Glass and I really thought that this vase was all that so I planned out my strategy; just outbid everyone in the room which is just what I did.

This pattern was made by Brockwitz of Germany. It is called Square Diamond a.k.a. Column Flower. I've got to admit I like the name Square Diamond the best. It seems only fitting since it is a square and there are diamonds in the pattern.

This vase is 8 1/2" tall and 2 1/2" square.
