Description

When I met my former husband, Allen, in the mid 80's, I had a small collection of Lundberg Art glass and he had a few pieces of carnival. We both loved it all, but living in a small town in South Carolina, there were no other collectors and rarely any for sale.

We managed to buy a few pieces at a local auction, and tracked down the consignor, who lived in nearby Greenville. His name was Grady Ballantine, and he had all the reference books and a photographic memory. He taught us much, and sold us more!

Grady told us about Roy Craver, who had a booth at the Metrolina Antique Maket in Charlotte, so we hunted Roy down. Roy was really knowledgeable, and we struck up a friendship.

A few years later, a nice couple was visiting the antique mall where we had a booth in Anderson. They bought several pieces, then came to our home and bought all of our "good" stuff. The couple was Randy & Jackie Poucher, who invited us to their home in Florida, and encouraged us to come to a carnival glass convention there. We did, and the rest is history.
